Centuries old trade beads on an approx 18" leather cord with sterling silver clasp/finish.
The large center bead is a mellifiore, and the yellow beads on either side of it are vaseline/uranium glass.
These beads are from an estate and are legit Venetian/African trade beads. They are in surprisingly good condition for their age, partly because the previous owner never got around to using them in any of his designs, so they basically sat in a storage bin for the past 50 or so years.
Traditionally, trade bead jewelry is, and has been, a symbol of status and wealth around the globe. They are meant to be worn and/or displayed. Hopefully, now they can have a chance at living their destiny.
