It is designed for maximum durability in extreme conditions. The Material: Helcor® "Diamond" Leather Abrasion Resistance: Helcor is famous for being scuff-proof. The "grainy" or "pebbled" texture is actually a protective coating that makes it nearly impossible to scratch or tear. Waterproofing: While standard leather is water-resistant, Helcor leather is permanently waterproof. It doesn't soak up water, so the boots won't get heavy or soggy in the rain. Heat & Fire Resistance: This material is also fire and heat-resistant, originally designed for industrial and tactical use. Low Maintenance: Unlike nubuck (the soft yellow leather), you never need to brush or treat Helcor with special oils. It stays looking new just by wiping it with a damp cloth. The "Grey Posterior Cushion": This is the padded collar. On this model, it is a high-contrast grey, providing a soft cushion for your Achilles tendon to prevent rubbing and blisters.
