For what I feel was Starbucks best year for merchandise, The 2015 Dot collection creators were artists first and foremost.
Designer Marisa Crane called upon design exercises from her training.
“To start, I cut up our Starbucks wordmark into small squares and then pieced it back together, creating the unique pattern you see on the cup. The entire piece encapsulates the meaning behind the single dot.”
Starbucks puts so much thought and effort into their cup designs. Each one in this collection has a team behind the scenes creating something beautiful, and there is always a personal perspective each artist brings to the design.
No wonder i have about 200 of them sitting in front of me that I need to list (don’t worry - most are duplicates - my storage unit is our little secret.)
