Louis Rault è stato un gioielliere, scultore e medaglista francese. Visse principalmente nella seconda metà del XIX secolo, dal 1847 al 1903. Realizzò oggetti unici, lavorò per Boucheron (Storica gioielleria francese fondata a Parigi nel 1858) a partire dall'età di 21 anni e continuò per 7 anni, fu un cesellatore molto noto ai suoi tempi (forse il più grande di tutti, secondo nientemeno che Henri Vever), e le sue opere vinsero numerosi premi artistici. Le sue creazioni sono esposte in diversi musei, come il Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
