Classic 1960’s Mexican Pebble Art Bust of Mayan ‘Ruler of Palenque’ K’inich Janaab Pakal (615-683) whose tomb was excavated in The Temple of the Inscriptions.
Impeccably sculpted, crushed Malachite Pebble mixture creates primitive aesthetics. Sturdy!
Securely adhered to smooth beveled wood block, Mayan symbols on 3 sides & one reads ‘Cabeza De Palenque’ orig meant to face front but thought others were cooler so I simply turned the bust (bust adhered w/ long deep sturdy metal bolt), can be easily moved back. Vintage Red Velvet bottom.
Excellent vintage condition; no chips or repairs (intentional primitive detail) no damage. Pics show dust.
