This was a special Edition "Artist of the world" print for the German Lufthansa Airline 1985 for their first class passengers.

The Dutch painter and graphic artist Louis was born at Maarssen in 1944 and studied at Amsterdam's Gerrit- Rietveld Academy from 1967 to 1971. In the latter year, the artist moved to West Berlin, where his work soon attracted considerable attention. In 1982, he was awarded first prize in a competition for his design of a wall for Berlin's Forum Steglitz. In 1984,
the Dutch Queen Beatrix bought one of his works and, in the same year, his design for a Berlin mural won
third prize. His paintings and graphics can be found in many private and public collections all over the world. In his earlier work Louis was strongly influenced by Berlin Realism, and his paintings dealt with social criticism. In the mid-1970s, however, he started to paint landscapes inspired by his many travels.
