Collectible, antique, Victorian children's book. 'A Peep Behind The Scenes.' Author: Mrs O. F. Walton. Published in London by The Religious Tract Society. Unsure of the exact year of this publication, but the personalised ink inscription inside the book is dated for 1896, so obviously it can't be any later than that year! At least 130 years old, so a genuine antique item. Inscription reads "Mabel Blackhurst. 1st prize for needlework standard III. Dudleston School. From Mary L. Holbech. Novbr 26th 1896." (Dudleston is in the county of Shropshire.) Hardcover book measuring 18.5cm length and 12cm wide. Clean, used, very good, antique condition. Internal pages are all intact and well secured, with no rips or stains. Some light mottling/discolouration on the inner back and front inscription pages. Light wear to the cover corners and edges, but the spine and front cover design and lettering is in good order. Please see photos in detail for full condition status of this book.
