Antique 1880s Dr. Jaynes Expectorant Medical Medicine Blue Glass Bottle w/ Cork
Bottle is in great antique condition, comes with the cork still in place. I did not attempt to remove the cap and would not suggest doing so as it is delicate and can break. This bottle does not say "Philadelphia" on it like some of the other ones do, so this could possibly be before Dr. Jayne moved his business to Philadelphia in 1850. On the side it says "twenty five cents". I would say this is mid 1800s. There is a number 2 on the bottom of the bottle.
Dr. David Jayne, descended from a line of clergymen, created Dr. Jayne's Family Medicines, a little empire that lasted over a hundred years. He founded the Company in New Jersey in the 1820s and moved it to Philadelphia in 1850
