In a surprise move and announced on April 6th of 2020: The US Mint is producing circulating quarters from the West Point Mint as they did in 2019. The 2020-W "Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller" Quarter can only be found in circulation and they are quite rare with a maximum of 2 million to be produced. These coins will bear the "W" mint mark. The Mint did this with the purpose of generating excitement for coin collecting by introducing rare coins into circulation. These "W" quarters were mixed in with bags of coins minted from the Philadelphia and Denver Mint and will be found by lucky collectors who are keeping a close eye on their pocket change!
