The Hawaii Volcanoes America the Beautiful quarter is a coin issued by
the United States Mint in 2012 as part of the America the Beautiful
Quarters Program. It features a design that highlights the natural
beauty and volcanic activity of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, located
on the Big Island of Hawaii. The design includes an erupting volcano, a
plume of smoke and lava, and a native Hawaiian hula dancer in the
foreground. The reverse also includes the inscriptions "Hawaii
Volcanoes," "Hawaii," "E Pluribus Unum," and the year of issuance. The
America the Beautiful Quarters Program is a series of coins that honor
some of America's most iconic and beloved natural and cultural
landmarks.
