This is a special military map compass from SUUNTO, delivered to the British Army in 2003 upon request from the UK Ministry of Defense. It was supplied to army soldiers deployed in the Iraq War in 2003 and later released as surplus by the British Army in 2012. It is a rare item that is hardly seen in Japan. The body has yellowed due to aging, but the oil has not discolored. The compass function has a tendency for the magnetic needle to lean to the left and is not accurate. Please refrain from using it in dangerous field situations such as mountaineering where there is a risk of danger. We recommend purchasing it as a collection of gear actually used in combat by the British military. There is a radiation mark on the left side of the tritium used in this map compass. Tritium vial technology does not require phosphorescence and has a lifespan of about 15 years, but the item being offered has been manufactured for over 20 years and has already exceeded its lifespan, although it is not harmful to the human body. Since it was actually used for several years in the military, there are numerous scratches on it.
