Cut Coin State Quarter
Cut Coin State Quarter Delaware 1999 Ceasar Rodney Patriot US Necklace Jewelry
The Delaware state quarter is a circulating commemorative coin issued by
the United States Mint in 1999 as part of the 50 State Quarters
Program. The design features Caesar Rodney, a Delaware patriot who rode
80 miles to Philadelphia in 1776 to cast his vote for independence from
Great Britain. The inscription "The First State" appears above the image
of Rodney, referencing Delaware's status as the first state to ratify
the U.S. Constitution.
The reverse of the coin features the familiar
image of George Washington, the first President of the United States,
along with the inscriptions "United States of America," "Quarter
Dollar," and "E Pluribus Unum."
The 50 State Quarters Program was a
ten-year initiative by the U.S. Mint to issue a quarter representing
each of the 50 states in the order in which they ratified the
Constitution or were admitted to the Union.
