Cut Coin State Quarter
Cut Coin State Quarter Connecticut 1999 Charter Oak Tree US Necklace Jewelry
The Connecticut state quarter is a circulating commemorative coin issued
by the United States Mint in 1999 as part of the 50 State Quarters
Program. The design features the Charter Oak, a historic white oak tree
located in Hartford, Connecticut, which played a role in the state's
early history. The tree, which is no longer standing, was where the
state's colonial charter was hidden to prevent it from being seized by
the British. The image includes the state motto, "Qui Transtulit
Sustinet," which translates to "He Who Transplanted Still Sustains." The
state's name, "Connecticut," and the date of statehood, "1788," are
also included on the reverse of the coin.
The obverse of the coin
features the familiar image of George Washington, the first President of
the United States, along with the inscriptions "United States of
America," "Quarter Dollar," and "E Pluribus Unum."
